Rouge hold onto a point in gritty affair

With the team looking to bounce back from the opening game loss, Rouge River faced Motion Boys in match-week 2. Motion Boys were hot coming off a win and with multiple absences and injuries to key players, it was going to be tough. The team was drenched before the first kick of the ball with rain coming down hard. Motion Boys took the lead near the end of the first half. The second half saw improved performances and chemistry, leading to the equalizer from Omair. A great finish under pressure after being played in by Yasir. Asked about his goal, Omair remarked, "As Balotelli once said, does the mailman celebrate when he does his job? Chill out guys." Rouge then took the initiative and grabbed the second with a half-volley from Mahab on his weaker foot. "Great players can go right foot, left foot, header. I am a great player," Mahab said after the game. Unfortunately, a late free-kick equalizer saw the game level before big chances for both teams. The team held on despite a late onslaught for the opponents and can look towards improving even more. A special day as well as Muhammad E. got his debut with the team.
